Cute!
I saw lot of mainly Israeli backpackers in Kathmandu and Pokhara cruising around with Enfields. Seems tobe a poular thing among young foreign people to cruise Enfields in Goa or Nepal.
A friend has a seldom diesel motorbike from India. Everybody in Germany is turning heads when he comes by. | |

Mam,
The reason why they are popular is because they are very "fault tolerant" bikes. In case of a japanese bike , if a part is worn out by 2 thousandth of an inch , the bike will stop working. A bullet is like a buffalo... not very fast but can take a lot of abuse.... and even if things fail ...it will make a lot of noise but keep running. The factor of safety for every component is very high.
The diesel bike should be a Swaraj or an Enfield with Greaves Lombardini engine. The engine is an agricultural engine used to pump water. But it has loads of torque and good mileage (70 kms per litre of diesel )

There are people who ride itto their rice fields, pump water for 6 hours with their motor bikes and then ride it back home

By the way , the same company that manufactures Gurkha has started manufacturing MAN trucks. |
