Hey, beautiful pictures indeed. Feel very jelous of you guys I have driven a Pajero in sand for a short few hours in Dubai (UAE) and found it rather difficult to do ... The trick seemed to be to keep up a high rate of speed.
I have always driven in jungle conditions with clay soaked in water ...if you drive fast there you loose traction.
You all should organize a trip to India, you would love it... there are Deserts and Mountains up north and thick jungles in the south. | _________________ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Its not too much about speed.
The trick is to deflate tyres to 1.0 or 0.7bars. Maybe the sand in Dubai was dryer than in NorthAfrica. We always go there in Feb- April or Sept- Dec.
In August its almost impossible to drive a car in the dunes.
Going to India? Certainly I have to go back to Asia- last trip was Nepal and Thailand in 2002. Definitely to long ago.
But next trip planned out is about desert again, this time not tunisia but libya. | |

Is it not really really hot in the desert? How do you manage? Air conditioner? | _________________ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

India??? Well ... in fact... we are planning an "expedition" to the GIR National Park (Gujarat) for late 2007 or early 2008 to study the remaining population of Asian Lions there and to take some photos of them ..... | _________________ Gruss,
